Your home, your priorities

Design for the next chapter at home

A New Providence home project may be about making a familiar house work for a changing household. An additional bedroom, more useful laundry space or a better kitchen connection can be considered as part of a long-term plan.

Before you choose a direction

Think about which daily activities you want to make easier now and which needs might change. We can discuss how room locations, circulation and additions could support those priorities without losing the qualities you enjoy.

Ranch Renewal — a project by Robie J. Wood Architect

Ranch Renewal

A beloved childhood ranch style home was reborn as a Prairie Style dream home with features that would allow the owners to age-in-place. A new vaulted Kitchen, Primary Bedroom Suite and Laundry/Mudroom were added to the living space. A new raised terrace was added to link the existing and new.

Farmhouse Addition — a project by Robie J. Wood Architect

Farmhouse Addition

Smart additions and alterations brought new life to some incongruous past work. An expanded Kitchen connected to a new Mudroom and Garage. A new bright and airy link was established between the Kitchen and existing Family Room for better circulation. A new Second Floor primary suite was seamlessly integrated with a full bathroom.

Plan around your property

A project starts with your goals and the information available about the building and site. Bring a survey, drawings and photographs if you have them, along with any known constraints or previous approvals.

Requirements depend on the property and proposed work. Municipal guidance helps identify what to check; the design and review process should be tailored to the specific project.

From conversation to a clear next step
